NHS Brooklyn Joins Breaking Ground at BK Public Library "Coffee & Connect"

This month NHS Brooklyn joins Breaking Ground, a social work support and referral nonprofit offering outreach services to individuals who are homeless or in danger of being homeless, at Brooklyn public libraries to raise awareness of our complementary services.

Library patrons will learn what the organizations have to offer at informal morning "Coffee & Connect" events, where they can chat with representatives about their housing and social service needs and ask questions over a cuppa joe and snacks.

These informal events come at a time when New York City is suffering from one of the worst homelessness crises in its history.

We hope you'll stop by and let us connect you to our HUD-certified counselors who specialize in tenant support services. You can also get on our mailing list to be notified of events on how to apply for affordable housing lotteries. Homeowners may also ask questions and pick up information about our foreclosure prevention, first-time homebuyer education, landlord training, and home repairs assistance programs.

"Coffee & Connect events where you'll find us are planned for Wednesday, July 12 from 10am to 12pm at the New Lots Library and on Friday, July 14, from 10am to 12pm at the Central Library, with more dates and locations to be added throughout the summer. Stop by and say hello!
